Eubank's grievances toward Benn along with his camp caused a media event promoting their rematch to descend into non-stop arguing

Eubank, thirty-five, took the opportunity to assert how Team Benn and Eddie Hearn tried to "sabotage" his preparation prior to their first match with Benn back in the spring

"His opponents tried every trick they could to destroy me in this previous fight", he began, "Agreement violations, penalties, rehydration clauses, sabotage scales, partial broadcasting as well as officiating" – until Hearn dismissed these statements as inaccurate

This Wednesday news conference marked the first time Chris Eubank Jr & Conor Benn had seen one another after their first bout

Eubank was admitted to hospital following his victory also revealed shed a toenail due to "extreme lack of fluids"

"I have not once listened to this much rubbish", Hearn retorted, "Eubank are acting like a victim"

The British opponents are scheduled to battle again this fall, with Conor Benn aiming for payback following his points defeat

"They are not humble fighters" he continued, "They are acting. They're acting like the good guys. Predators disguised as sheep's clothing"

Benn did not rise to the bait, allowing Eddie Hearn do the bulk of the talking

However, the 28-year-old promised to be less "overeager" during the rematch

"It felt like I had been a single shot away from victory, but I was always looking for that knockout blow", Benn explained

Following a news conference full of squabbling, staredown passed with no significant drama

Talking before the conference, Benn stated how Ricky was his "hero"

"I cannot truly grasp his passing", Benn admitted

"Hatton was a person that really supported my career but also somebody who took me in. Similar to a mentor would"

"He made me feel comfort at a time I lacked a home. The champion meant a lot to me. Extremely close to my heart and my relatives"

"Ricky Hatton was somebody I looked up to as a man, he became my inspiration", Conor continued

"He remains my hero. It is still difficult to accept. I've got little to say. My condolences to the family"
