Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had led some to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, took control to force a final set.
He saved four early opportunities in a close final set before the champion broke to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net area, with Moutet unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
